At Savage Tech Kft (address: 1095 Budapest, Mester ut 61, FSZ 3) we place great emphasis on the protection of your personal information and compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)*. This Privacy Notice relates to the collection, use, transfer, and retention of your personal data by Savage Tech Kft.

Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC.

1. Who we are and what we do

Savage events are organised by Savage Tech Kft. (also known as Savage Marketing, Savage, Savage.Z, Savage Intel), which is in the main business of organising conferences in Europe.

Savage maintains and processes personal data collected through our website, online forms and conferences that we produce. The majority of the information we hold is obtained directly from you. We always aim to keep your details up to date and we will undertake efforts to ensure that the contact details we have for you are correct and, where appropriate, update them. More information on these activities is below and you will always have the right to opt out. We value our relationship with you and we use your personal data to ensure we contact you in the most appropriate way, improve our services, and we work efficiently and effectively.

4. What is the purpose for processing your data?

We collect information about you to fulfil your request (e.g. if you fill out a ‘Yes Please’ or ‘register for a ticket’ form, we use this information to contact you directly, process your order, manage your account and email you about other products, services, and information we think may be of interest to you). We may use your contact information for marketing purposes to advertise our service to you on third-party websites such as Google, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. We may also contact you directly to follow up on the service and user experience we provide. We use your information collected from the website to personalise your repeat visits to our website. By providing your personal data you agree to the sharing of your data with third parties (partners and sponsors) so that they may contact you. If Savage Tech Kft. is ever sold to another company your contact information will be passed on to this new party.

We will take cautionary measure to ensure we do not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee the above services to you.

5. What is our legal basis for processing your data?

As part of our work, we process and store personal information relating to event attendees, sponsors, speakers, partners and website visitors and we therefore adhere to the applicable data protection rules. We take our responsibilities under these rules seriously and ensure the personal information we obtain is held, used, transferred and processed in accordance with the applicable data privacy rules. Savage Tech Kft. processes the information outlined in this Privacy Notice in pursuit of our legitimate interests in:

• Communicating with event attendees, sponsors, speakers, partners and website visitors;

• Providing benefits and services to event attendees, sponsors, speakers, partners and website visitors;

We may pursue these legitimate interests by contacting you by telephone, email, post, or social media. Information about how you can manage the ways that we contact you, including how to opt out from some or all contact from Savage Tech Kft., is outlined in the ‘Your Rights’ section below.

Although Savage Tech Kft. relies on legitimate interest as the legal basis for processing where this is not overridden by the interests and rights or freedoms of the data subjects concerned, it recognises that it is not the only lawful ground for processing data. As such, where appropriate, Savage Tech Kft. will sometimes process your data on an alternative legal basis – for example, based on a legal obligation (when reporting may be required to the Hungarian or American tax authorities, for instance) or when you give your explicit consent to us to do so.

6. What kind of personal data do we collect?

We collect information about you when you fill in a contact form, download brochure, download whitepapers/reports, sign up for our newsletters, sign up for our events, or email us directly. We also collect information when you voluntarily comment on our blog posts, provide feedback and participate in competitions. 

Website usage information is collected using cookies. Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity. For further information visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org. You can set your browser not to accept cookies and the above websites tell you how to remove cookies from your browser. The information we collect about you may include your name, job title, email address, company name, address, phone number, IP address, location, sex, LinkedIn profile, and any other information you supply voluntarily.

7. Who receives your information?

Savage Tech Kft. staff work closely together to provide a coordinated approach. Any transmission of data between Savage Tech Kft. staff is managed through agreed processes which comply with relevant data protection legislation. 

Unless we have a legal obligation to do so, we will not disclose your data to individuals, organisations, or other entities outside of Savage Tech Kft. other than those who are acting as agents and data processors working on our behalf.

For the purposes set out in section 4, we may need to pass your information to our third-party service providers, agents, subcontractors, or volunteers for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to event sponsors for contacting you after the event). However, with all external entities with whom data is shared, we share only the data needed to perform the specific service and require a contract and/or confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement to be signed before any data transfer, requiring them to keep your information secure and not to use it for non-agreed-upon purposes. 

When you are using our event registration pages, your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor specialising in the secure processing of credit/debit card transactions. We do not retain credit card information for future use.

Specific third parties we work with include:

Podio (Citrix Systems, Inc.): Based in the US, with Savage Tech Kft.’s data stored within EU in data centers located in Dublin, Ireland. Software As A Service which provides a contact management platform.

Mailchimp: Based in the US, Mailchimp enables Savage Tech Kft. to share news about current and upcoming events, featured interviews, relevant news, as well as provides us with data on opens and clicks from our newsletters.

Ticketsify LDA: Based in the Portugal Ticketsify LDA provides us with an event technology platform (Eventsify) which enables our attendees to book tickets to our events.

Sponsors and Partners: Our event sponsors and partners receive information on the attendees (names, job title, emails and company name) who attend the specific event they are sponsors of. 

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law.

8. How long will your information be held?

If Savage Tech Kft. provides any paid for services to you, we are required under Hungarian tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 8 years after which time it will be destroyed. The information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

• to erase, 

• to restrict processing your personal information,

• to withdraw your consent any time.

10. Security of your information

We are committed to holding your data securely and treating it with sensitivity. All data are held securely and in accordance with the relevant data privacy laws and our internal policies. Although most of the information we store and process stays within Hungary, some information may be transferred to countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). This may occur if, for example, one of our trusted partners’ servers are located in a country outside the EEA. Where these countries do not have similar data protection laws to the European Union, we will take steps to make sure they provide an adequate level of protection in accordance with EU data protection law.
